Breaking Down the Walls: Stepping Into the Victory God Has Already Given You

As we begin this journey together, I want you to think about walls.

In the Bible, we read about the city of Jericho—a city surrounded by walls so high and strong they appeared completely impenetrable. From a human perspective, there was no obvious way through. Yet God had already promised victory. The walls were never the true obstacle; belief, obedience, and preparation were the real test.

Before Israel ever marched around Jericho, God called His people to prepare themselves. (Joshua 4) They paused. They remembered what He had done. They trusted His word. And most importantly, they believed Him—even when the outcome seemed impossible.

Many of us face our own “walls” today.

For some, those walls are physical—weight gain, metabolic changes, chronic fatigue, or health struggles that feel overwhelming. For others, the walls are emotional or spiritual—discouragement, shame, fear, or the quiet belief that “this just isn’t possible for me.”

The first step is to identify the walls in your own life that feel too high to conquer. Then, bring them honestly before God. Ask Him to break them down—not in your strength, but in His.

Scripture reminds us that preparation matters. Preparing yourself does not mean striving harder or being perfect. It means aligning your heart and mind with what is true. As Philippians 4:8 encourages us, we are called to dwell on what is true, honorable, just, pure, excellent, and worthy of praise. Preparation begins in the mind—by choosing truth over fear.

That also means throwing away the lies.

The lie that says, “You’ve tried before, and it never worked—why would this time be different?”
The lie that says, “Seeking help means you failed.”
The lie that says, “Using medical treatment is cheating.”

These lies keep us stuck, discouraged, and hidden. God does not work in darkness. He works in truth and light.

Remember this: God is with you. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

More than seeking victory over weight or health struggles, seek the presence of God. Scripture tells us that when we seek Him first, everything else falls into its proper place. With His presence comes wisdom, strength, peace, and direction. ( Matthew 6:33)

When you step into God’s light, you are not starting from defeat—you are stepping forward from a place of victory that has already been promised. The walls may still be standing today, but they are not permanent. God goes before you, walks beside you, and strengthens you for what lies ahead.(Romans 8:37)

This journey is not about perfection. It is about faith, obedience, preparation, and trust—one step at a time.

And you are not walking it alone.
